The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are moving on the people of Oklahoma City. Since taking over last fall, my heart for the city has exploded thanks to the love of the Father. We began 2018 with a 48 hour long expression of ministering to the heart of Jesus. As we return to our first love we receive His love for us. Teams from multiple denominations are joining in the song of eternity, and Jesus is getting every second of the glory!

For those of you wondering “How did we go for 48 hours?” The answer starts with another question “Who is in the Family?” Jesus calls us to go far together, not fast alone. The whole journey of discipleship is through family. It takes more then just saying you want to do 48 hours, but developing relationships and family to cultivate a continued lifestyle of adoration. For our January expression we had representatives from 16 different congregations come together to love on Jesus. Mind you, some of us went twice (I personally played for 6 hours that weekend, spread over the whole 48.) Personal sacrifice is a part of being a family. Everyone has a part to play. Just like in Ephesians 4, there is unity through oneness found in the body of expression. Invitation shares the unique need for each part of the body while vision casts oneness. The intersection of these two elements is Family.

Oklahoma City is an interesting mix of a lot of cultures. When it comes to church, most everyone has heard a rendition of “The Gospel.” When it comes to sports, we sit divided by college bias’ but united around our Thunder. When it comes to food...we feast; from barbecue to tacos, we have dream cuisine. Recently however, the Lord has been opening up the hearts of His people to unify and worship. A true Psalm 27:4 outpouring: “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.”

Jesus’ prayer for the family in John 17:20-23 was this:

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

This prayer is resonating in the mouths of the sons and daughters across the globe, including those of us here in Oklahoma City. Jesus calls us together. Jesus calls us one. Jesus calls us family. And that is our aim. That our worship anthems, groaning prayers, and every-day every-moment missional hearts would go forward calling the Family together! That we would go up, in and out together for the sake of the world.

The first Friday and Saturday of every month we continue to gather here in Oklahoma City. From 6 p.m. until 6 p.m., we return love back to Love Itself! If you are ever in the OKC area, don’t hesitate to look us up. You have family here!
